Is Someone Stealing Your Potential?

Worse yet, are you?

You are progressing on your own timeline. And that’s exactly as it should be. There’s not a one-size fits all learning policy in sports. At least there shouldn’t be. In fact, it’s one size fits one.

You have your own very unique success formula.

What works for other people isn’t necessarily going to work for you. So, stop comparing yourself to other people.

Comparison is the thief of POTENTIAL.

The moment you hand off your skills and talents by saying, ‘I’m not good enough’, you’re taking away your potential to improve. You’re embracing a thought that will not motivate you to keep trying, to try harder or to try different things.

Same thing happens when you do it to someone else. Any time you (knowingly or unknowingly) say something to another teammate that’s, in effect, communicating they’re not good enough. You’re taking away their potential.

Just because you have more or different milestones than someone else doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. And it doesn’t mean you’re never gonna get there. Same goes for your teammates.

Everyone warrants the time and attention to find and optimize their own success formula.

You most of all.

One size fits one. Ohhhhh and when you find that perfect size, boy does it like fabulous on you!

Achieving my milestones and no one else’s,
Lauren
