Reaching Your Goals: More than Skills!

You deserve to be a whole human.

It’s question time! Starting with:

What are your athletic goals for the summer?

What are you working towards?

Now most coaches would say: okay, now what are you going to do to get there?

I’m not most coaches. I like to ask a different question:

What kind of person do you need to be to get there?

Here are some thought starters:

  • A good team member

    • Kind, empathetic, helpful, dependable

  • Someone who listens to their body

  • A curious learner

Focusing on these things adds depth to your journey. Because you are much more than a set of skills and a nutrition plan.

Life - and sport - requires more of us. And when you can put all those things together, you’ll be able to finish happier regardless of the result.

Chances are your results will be better too.

BTW: To support me in reaching my goals, it will serve me to be a more relaxed person who tunes more into how my body feels about something vs. what my mind tells me I should do. A HUGE part of my success formula is to feel more than think. ‘Cuz like any brain, I can rationalize just about anything. But what’s truest for me is what I feel to be right for me.
