Know When It's Time to Change Your Pace
Most everything is a marathon, not a sprint even if you are a sprinter.
🥇🥈🥉There’s been a change in pace.🥉🥈🥇
I was a distance swimmer through and through. My entire swimming career centered around pace vs. speed.
In fact, I was such an endurance athlete the first 100yd of my 500FR was always faster than me just swimming 100FR straight up.
And the variance was significant. I’d swim 3-4 seconds faster in the first 20% of a 500 vs. just going after it. It was the weirdest thing. Still can’t explain it.
All this to say, I understand pace. I’m much better at establishing a sustainable clip for a long(er) period of time than I am at an all out sprint and lasting just a short while. (It’s why I’d rather run a marathon than a 5k. Yes, yes I know. I’m quite crazy 🤣🫣🤪)
It’s also why you’re going to start to see podcast announcements every other week (vs. weekly).
We came out of the gate hot and with a lot of energy, which was intentional. We mimicked it after the first 100yd of my 500FR. Now we’re settling into the groove with a powerful and sustainable pace.
Nothing else has changed. You’ll continue to see, hear, and learn from all of our amazing guests so that you can add to your own success formula to figure out what works for you.
