Athletes are More Than Meets the Eye

But not Transformers.

“I get that when you buy a ticket you feel you can say whatever you want to these footballers. But they’re not just footballers…

They’re humans.”

OY!!! Roy Kent, can you say it a bit louder for people in the back to hear?!

While as fans (and even parents and coaches) we have the right to say what we want to athletes, doesn’t mean we should exercise that right.

Here’s looking at you too athletes! While you can say whatever you want to yourselves, doesn’t mean you should.

The game isn’t played by robots.

It’s played by humans who are, in fact, affected by others’ perceptions… regardless of how tough you think they are or should be.

Think about the courage it takes to be as vulnerable as athletes are every time they compete.

Their performance is on display all. the. time.

Parents and Coaches …

Imagine your performance review was put on blast for your entire organization to see.

And all of your colleagues had the chance to chime in with what they think about how you performed.

🤢🤢🤢

There’s a game, meet, race, match happening pretty much at any given moment.

Remember the human competing has a whole lot more going on behind the scenes.

A whole lot more beyond the win (or loss).
